Product Description
INCOLOY® alloy 825 (UNS N08825, W.Nr. 2.4858) is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. The nickel content is sufficient for resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. The nickel, in conjunction with the molybdenum and copper, also gives outstanding resistance to reducing environments such as those containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids. The molybdenum also aids resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy’s chromium content confers resistance to a variety of oxidizing substances such as nitric acid, nitrates and oxidizing salt. The titanium addition serves, with an appropriate heat treatment, to stabilize the alloy against sensitization to intergranular corrosion.
Incoloy 825 capillary tube has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid corrosion, intergranular corrosion after welding. It won’t lead chloride stress corrosion cracking. With excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion in a chloride ion-containing medium environment, it boasts great resistance to stress corrosion under sodium chloride salt solution medium. In addition, it has high strength and good toughness.
It is mainly used in flue gas desulfurization spray towers, reverse osmosis seawater desalination equipment and pumps, chemical reaction kettles and pipelines, heat exchangers using seawater media, crude oil separation distillation towers and metal fillers, marine oil and gas extraction equipment as well as scrubber drums, pressure rollers, tanks, pipes, etc. in the pulp bleaching systems.
